Hydration matters

Water contributes to the maintenance of normal physical and cognitive functions, and normal regulation of the body’s temperature.

To benefit, at least 2L of water from all sources, should be consumed daily.

*The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) guidelines for an adequate daily intake of water (from food and drink consumption) are 2.5 litres of water for men and 2.0 litres of water for women, in conditions of moderate environmental temperature and moderate physical activity.

Have a look at how much water (from food and drinks) you should be drinking daily, based on age and gender.

Different levels apply to children, and pregnant/lactating women.
